No. Context does not create a bulk email archive or duplicate your Exchange data store. It processes email content to extract knowledge -- decisions, technical discussions, action items, and organizational context -- and indexes that knowledge in the graph. The knowledge graph entries link back to the original email threads in Outlook. Context stores extracted knowledge and metadata, not raw email content, keeping storage requirements minimal compared to email archival solutions.

How does Context handle email sensitivity labels and DLP policies?

What email retention period does Context index?

The retention window for initial email indexing is configurable during connector setup. Most organizations index 12-24 months of email history, though the window can be extended or reduced based on your needs and compliance requirements. After initial sync, Context indexes new emails continuously using delta queries. Older email knowledge can be retained in the graph even after the source emails are removed from Exchange per your retention policies.
